The Twenty Fifth Annual Old Santee Canal Fine Arts Exhibition

The Berkeley Artists Guild would like to invite you to join us for The Twenty Fifth Annual Old Santee Canal Fine Arts Exhibition beginning August 29 through September 13, 2015.

ELIGIBILITY
Open to artists who are South Carolina residents and/or property owners. Each artist may enter two paintings in each category.

SPECIFICATIONS
Artwork must have been completed in the preceding two years and not previously exhibited in this show. Concept, design and execution of the artwork shall be solely that of the artist. No images produced by drawing or painting over any reproduction.  No collaborations or work produced under the supervision of an instructor. Maximum size limit is 48’’ in either direction, including frame and 20 lbs in weight. Work must be properly framed, wired, and ready to hang.

The Exhibition Committee will have sole responsibility to select the exhibition and reserves the right to reject any work prior to judging that does not meet eligibility requirements or not deemed appropriate. The Berkeley Artist Guild will receive a 10% commission of purchase price on all pieces sold, excluding purchase awards.

AWARDS
Best in show $500. In six categories, 1st Place $150, 2nd Place $75, and 3rd Place $25. 10 Honorable Mentions at $10. If there are five or less pieces in any category, limited awards may be given. Awards as follows: Berkeley County and Santee Cooper Purchase awards and peoples choice award.

DELIVERY OF ENTRIES
Deliver to the Interpretive Center, Old Santee Canal Park, Moncks Corner, S.C. On Friday, August 28, 2015, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. (NO EARLY DROP OFF). By submitting works for this exhibition, the artist accepts all the conditions set forth in this prospectus. Berkeley Artist Guild and Old Santee Canal Park will take reasonable precautions to prevent loss or damage to works, but accept no responsibility for same; by entering, you hereby agree to accept any and all liability and hold harmless all other parties.

RETURN OF WORKS
All entries must be picked up on Sunday, September 13, 2015, not before 7 p.m. by artist with proper identification.

RECEPTION
A reception will be held Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the Interpretive Center, Old Santee Canal Park from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to honor artists and sponsors. Awards will be presented at 6:00 p.m. All entries must be removed at the end of the reception.

REGISTRATION FEE
Entries must be received by August 26, 2015, with an entry fee of $20 per painting. Late registration coincides with delivery of entires at $30 per painting on August 28 ending at 2 p.m. Write checks to Berkeley Artist Guild. Please mail Early Registration to:

GUEST JUROR
MICHAEL STORY
Michael Story earned a BFA in Fine Art from the University of South Carolina in 1976. He later traveled to New York, studying pastel and oil painting under internationally known artist, Daniel Greene. Today Michael Story is an award winning artist who regularly teaches pastel and oil painting, guest lectures and juries art shows. His client list of private buyers and corporate collectors continues to grow including the Marriot Corporation, Progressive Energy of Florida, The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island, Holiday Inn, Fluor Corporation, Erving Texas and Walt Disney World. His paintings have been reproduced by major Publishers such as Canadian Art Prints of British Columbia and distributed worldwide.
