The Berkeley Artists Guild hosted the 30th Annual Old Santee Canal Fine Arts Exhibition in the Interpretive Center of the Old Santee Canal Park located in Moncks Corner, SC. This year’s show hung for two weeks from August 26, 2022 through September 11, 2022, ending with a reception and awards ceremony on the evening of the last day. The food for this year’s reception was donated and served by Ophelia’s, a new restaurant on Main Street in Moncks Corner.
Thirty-eight artists from around the state entered 87 works to be judged in one or more of six categories: watercolor, oil, mixed media and collage, drawing, pastel, and acrylic. Ribbons and cash were awarded in each category along with a Best In Show.
The Judge for the Show was Steven Whetstone from Columbia, SC. He is an active artist whose background and work can be viewed at www.theclimbstudio.com. See below for his comments of the winning entries.
